Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch therapy that works primarily with the craniosacral system (made up of dura mater and cerebrospinal fluid), which envelopes the central nervous system.
I gently hold different areas on the body, from the feet to the head (and sometimes inside the mouth) to feel the subtle rhythm of the craniosacral system, and to treat it. This helps me to find where the body might be "stuck" and/or holding tension and tightness. When there is tension on this system, it can't function as well as it should, which can create many issues like pain, organ dysfunction, cognitive issues, headaches/migraines, stress, sensory issues, etc.
Using light touch (5 grams of pressure or less), I follow the subtle movements in the fascia to the position the body wants to be in to release. Think of the light touch as "stealth therapy", the more the body can't feel my hands, the less chance it has to protect itself and stay in the dysfunctional patterns.
Occasionally clients can experience emotional releases on the table. Which is totally normal. If this happens, clients are welcome to move through whatever is coming up. Whether it’s grief, crying, anger, or even uncontrollable laughter all clients are held in each and every moment before, during and after. Additionally past memories can sometimes pop in, as well as inexplicable imagery that helps to process whatever it is that needs processing.
During sessions, clients are fully clothed in comfortable clothing (think sweats or yoga pants), and face up the whole time. Most clients fall asleep, or go into a deep relaxing mind state. Each session can either be 60 or 90 minutes. I suggest starting with 60 minutes for at least the first visit so we don't overwhelm your system, and to get to know what the therapy feels like.
Pricing:
60 minutes: $110
90 minutes: $140
